Creative Wall Decals For Your Child's Room

I love the idea of decorating my son's (little Brandon) room. Then I thought about adding designs and illustrations to the walls would make it really unique.  Some people call them wall stickers, wall murals, vinyl wall decals, or even wall decor. I was recently introduced to www.WallDecalsPop.com, and online store that offers a wide variety of removable wall decals. Wall decals can make the room come to life with wonderful images. I think it gives a creative and positive feel and kids can expand their imaginations.

What's great about wall decals is that you can turn your walls into a piece of art and you don't need to worry with any mess with paint or glue. Some of these decals provide inspiration, humor or wisdom for all those who see them.

I love the nursery & kids wall decal collection. Here are some of my favorites:

I just love the owls. They're so adorable!

The photos provide suggestions on sticker placement, but you can customize them any way you want it to look.  Application seems easy, but large ones would take some time. These decals are also available at www.walldecalscanada.ca. (click here). They offer free worldwide shipping on all orders $50 or more.

Joanie Leeds & The Nightlights Album "Good Egg" Releases June 24

Joanie's back, with a stunning new album! Beloved singer/songwriter Joanie Leeds continues to build her award-winning body of work with the June 24 release of her sixth children's album, Good Egg.

This time around, Joanie Leeds and her band, The Nightlights, are joined by Jacob Stein (of the GRAMMY® nominated The Pop Ups) and children's musician extraordinaire Mista Cookie Jar.

Good Egg dances with delight through a roll call of musical genres. Joanie Leeds says, "I've never been one to stay stuck in any one particular musical style because I know kids love 'em all -- rock, pop, funk, soul, ska, go-go, gospel, country -- and frankly, so do I!"

An exceptionally versatile artists, Joanie Leeds is gifted with a soulful, "rock solid" voice that ranges from low and bluesy to high, light, and breezy. Says SiriusXM's Kids Place Live Program Director Mindy Thomas, "Joanie Leeds is that cool babysitter who would let you try on her lip gloss once your mom left the house. You idolized her, and your mom knew she could trust her. That's Joanie. Only she's also likely to completely ROCK THE ROOF OFF YOUR HOUSE!"

The second Joanie Leeds album to be produced by GRAMMY® winner Dean Jones, Good Egg kicks off with the driving beat of "Food Fight" and segues into some gentle, folksy harmony on "Kids Place." It's DC go-go all the way on "Drummer Dan," with Mista Cookie Jar infusing the number with some funky FLAVA! Jacob Stein of the GRAMMY® nominated The Pop Ups partners with Joanie Leeds to make a lot of sweet harmony with a language tug of war between the literal and the creatively idiomatic on "The World is Your Oyster." "My Dad," a ukulele-powered traditional jazz number in the mode of Django Reinhardt, is a terrific vehicle for the light and breezy side of Joanie's vocal style. Sublime meets Less Than Jake to dig into traditional ska on "Shadow," while The Clash meets The Ramones on a bit of classic punk to review classic illness prevention on "Germs." Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and leprechauns all have their moments in the sun on "Always on the Run."

Joanie Leeds captured first place for her original music in the USA Songwriting Competition and has won an Independent Music Award and a Parents Choice® Gold Award, as well as a NAPPA Gold Award. She has been honored as a finalist in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and the International Songwriting Competition. While often found serenading families in her hometown of NYC, Joanie also performs in dozens of cities across the country, and her music has been highly praised in People Magazine, Parents Magazine, The New York Times, and The Washington Post. Her tunes are played on many radio stations nationwide and have climbed the chart to #1 on SiriusXM's Kids Place Live and WXPN's Kids Corner. Joanie is also a PJ Library musician!

WHERE TO BUY:  Good Egg will be available online at www.joanieleeds.com, cdbaby.com, Amazon.com, iTunes, and other related digital outlets.

Stroller Shopping Guide: Take a Stroll with guzzie+Guss

Whether you’re a new parent or toting two (or more!) kids around town, shopping for a stroller can be an overwhelming feat. Full size, umbrella, city, jogging, travel systems – the choices are endless! Here we try to break down some of the features to help you find your perfect match. Thanks to Talia Beckett (Pink Pearl PR) for this article.

From city streets to rugged terrain - One of the first questions you’ll want to ask yourself is “where will I be using this stroller?” If you’re sticking to an urban setting, a zippy umbrella or city stroller with smooth steering to navigate crowds are a great choice. The guzzie+Guss 103 Pender strikes the perfect balance between a convenient travel stroller and a comfortable full size stroller with all the bells and whistles. With its 4-position recline, large storage basket and ability to transform into a full travel system, this lightweight stroller makes for a heavyweight contender!

Heading to the backcountry with baby in tow? Look for a stroller with good suspension and lockable front wheels that can handle loose surfaces. The guzzie+Guss 101 Goose features full suspension and a 5-point harness for maximum safety when travelling over rocky terrain. Dirt-resistant and tough against wear, tear and fading, this stroller is made for life in the great outdoors.

It’s a brand new world just waiting to be explored - Can’t wait to show off your fresh, new baby? Look for a stroller that features a bassinette or newborn nest so you can be strolling from Day One. The guzzie+Guss 042 Quadra is one of the most versatile strollers on the market. Incorporating all of the classic functions of a full-sized pram, simply add the bassinette and your baby will glide on sealed bearings, full suspension, and air-filled tires for the smoothest of rides.

Tired legs are a thing of the past - Older kids need not grumble anymore about having to walk alongside the stroller while the new baby rides in style! Strollers have come a long way and many now have the option to add an additional seat or convert to a travel system to fit an infant car seat to the frame. The guzzie+Guss 1+1 Gabriola is a one-of-a-kind, modular stroller that can convert from a travel system to a single or in-line double stroller with its included second seat! With over 10 different configurations the G+G 1+1, Gabriola stroller is adaptable to fit your needs.

For a more lightweight option, don’t look past the guzzie+Guss 125 Hornby double stroller. Its highly innovative design, with a new no-pinch frame fold, can easily fit through most standard doorways. Each seat is independent of the other so you can have one seat upright while the other is reclined, keeping all passengers happy and comfortable.

For the mobile kid that needs a quick rest, the universal stroller hitch makes for a fun riding board that attaches to any type of stroller. Who wouldn’t want to jump aboard?

A stroller that does it all… and more? - Just when you thought you’d seen it all, guzzie+Guss comes up with a revolutionary new concept in stroller design. The Connect+ line features two strollers, a full size and a jogger, both with removable seats that fit not only onto the stroller chassis, but also can be used as a high chair or a rocker (with added accessories), allowing for an exciting way for you to connect further with your baby.

Accessories aren’t just purses and jewels - Who knew? Strollers, too, can be outfitted with extra goodies to take your ride from coach to first class! Whether it’s a rain cover or an extra cup holder or two, a few added accessories can make all the difference in making for a comfortable and enjoyable day out with your little ones in tow.

Changing Tires on Daddy's Car

The weather is getting warming and it's time to put the winter tires away. Little Brandon was a big help for daddy by helping with the basic stuff (loosening and tightening the lug nuts, putting block behind tires, and putting away tools. Of course, he needed a little help to make sure everything was perfect.

Checking the tire pressure:

Putting a block behind back wheel so car doesn't roll away:

Trying to push the lever down to loosen the lug nut:

This is heavy!

Almost done:

All in a days work...
